  1. The great thing about appeasement is indeed that it avoids war.

    The terrible thing is that it only does so at the expense of conferring all power to the enemy.

    So. Hurrah! No fighting this time round. But just think: a weakened Britain and an emboldened Iran make nuclear war in the Middle East more likely.

    Now that’s a good reason not to break out the bubbly just yet.
