DontVoteDem2.jpg A controversial billboard in Orange County has a picture of the burning World Trade Center and the message, “Please Don’t Vote for a Democrat.” The man who paid for the ad says he’s trying to help Republicans, but officials with both political parties are calling the billboard inappropriate.

Here’s a report CNN did on this billboard.

Here’s the “music video” version of the song the man wrote who’s renting this billboard. Here’s the link to his web site.

NewYorkerCover.jpg Yes, I see their point - to illustrate the idiotic, paranoid and racist notions some knuckle draggers have of Senator Obama. But I am always reminded of H. L. Mencken’s remark. “No-one ever went broke underestimating the intelligence of the American people.” Let’s hope they get it this time and that this cover doesn’t feed the beast of right wing dimwittery.

BBC Report on 1933 right wing planned coup in America

Category: Uncategorized | Comment | Permalink | Email This Post | Posted: May 20, 2008 at 8:51 pm by Doug Basham

The coup was aimed at toppling President Franklin D Roosevelt with the help of half-a-million war veterans. The plotters, who were alleged to involve some of the most famous families in America, (owners of Heinz, Birds Eye, Goodtea, Maxwell Hse & George Bush’s Grandfather, Prescott) believed that their country should adopt the policies of Hitler and Mussolini to beat the great depression. Mike Thomson investigates why so little is known about this biggest ever peacetime threat to American democracy. Click here to listen to the BBC Report.

And speaking of ‘appeasement’…

How Bush’s Grandfather Helped Hitler’s Rise to Power.
George Bush’s grandfather, the late US senator Prescott Bush, was a director and shareholder of companies that profited from their involvement with the financial backers of Nazi Germany. The Guardian has obtained confirmation from newly discovered files in the US National Archives that a firm of which Prescott Bush was a director was involved with the financial architects of Nazism.
His business dealings, which continued until his company’s assets were seized in 1942 under the Trading with the Enemy Act, has led more than 60 years later to a civil action for damages being brought in Germany against the Bush family by two former slave labourers at Auschwitz and to a hum of pre-election controversy. Right wing talk radio moron proves what I say daily

Category: Uncategorized | 1 Comment | Permalink | Email This Post | Posted: May 15, 2008 at 7:34 pm by Doug Basham

TRT: 7:12
Watch this right wing talk radio moron Kevin James prove what we’ve contended on this show for years now, namely, that the GOP has become the party of empty, meaningless talking points that they don’t even understand. Watch MSNBC’s Chris Matthews expose this ignorant, ill informed fool for the stupid “talking points repeater” that he is. Sadly, this is all James’ equally ignorant and ill informed, core audience demands from him. As long as you spit out talking points that demonize the left, who cares if you actually know what they mean? Or if they’re true. Pathetic, deluded people. Conversely… nicely done, Chris. Nicely done indeed, sir.
